This course will be a clinically oriented detailed guide to planning and performing simultaneous facelift and fat injections. The course will include video of facial fat injections and a question-and-answer period. (Please note: The course will focus on fat grafting and facelift will not be specifically discussed. A separate course on facelift is offered and interested learners are encouraged to enroll in it.)
Desired outcomes:
- Review the relevance of the facial atrophy and the importance of restoration of lost facial volume in the modern facelift procedure
- Compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of the commonly advocated procedures used to add volume to the face
- Discuss pre-operative analysis of the facelift patient and the development of an appropriate fat grafting plan to treat age-associated facial atrophy in the facelift patient.
- Discuss primary fat grafting vs simultaneous facelift and fat grafting and review the indications and best applications for each
- Review controversies in harvesting and processing of fat for injection
- Present fat injection technique
- Discuss optimal sequencing facelift and fat injection procedures
- Review anesthesia considerations if facelift and fat injection procedures
- Discuss patient safety issues in facelift lift and fat injection procedures
- Discuss peri-operative care of the patient undergoing simultaneous facelift and fat injections
