501 Lip Lift: Why and How?

Objectives: Upon completion of this course participants should be able to plan and perform a forehead lift.
Description: This course will be a practical, clinically oriented, guide to planning and performing a lip lift. An edited video of the procedure will be shown and the course will include a question and answer period.
Desired Outcomes:
- Review the relevance of the upper lip and the importance of lip lifting in contemporary facial rejuvenation procedures.
- Discuss upper lip aesthetics and indications and contraindications for lip lift procedures.
- Compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of the commonly advocated lip lift techniques.
- Discuss pre-operative analysis of the lip lift patient and the formulation of an appropriate surgical plan
- Review clinically relevant anatomy important to surgical technique and avoiding complications
- Discuss planning of incisions and surgical technique to minimize scars, optimize outcomes, and to avoid secondary deformities.
- Discuss concomitant peri-oral fat grafting and laser skin resurfacing in lip lift procedures
- Review anesthesia considerations in lip lift surgery
- Discuss patient safety issues in lip lift surgery
- Discuss peri-operative care of the lip lift patient
